Coaching

From Chaos to Growth

New life. New job. New country.
No friends. No family. Unfamiliar environment.
I felt lost, lonely, and confused.

Some years ago, I was assigned as Engineering Manager for an international electro-mechanical contractor on the Kuala Lumpur Twin Towers project in Malaysia. It was a powerful experience—one that stayed printed on my internal “chip.”

Suddenly, I found myself in an environment completely different from anything I had known before. I couldn’t tell where anyone was from. I struggled to appreciate the local food and culture. The weather felt strange. And all of this affected both my performance and my mood.

I had difficulty reading people, understanding social cues, and sensing the qualities of the personalities around me.

Looking back now, I realize I was in deep need of coaching—someone to help me navigate this transitional period filled with challenges, cultural shifts, and overwhelming confusion on both the career and personal fronts.

I still love those days, though. Today I can see how much they contributed to my personal and professional growth. But I also see that the journey could have been much easier.

Seek help when you need it.
It’s the smartest way to make life easier—and to grow through transitions instead of struggling through them.
